Island Culvert locally manufactures Corrugated Steel Pipe in the heart of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island British Columbia. We are proud to be Island owned and operated! We are certified to the highest level in our industry by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA group) in terms of quality assurance and process specifications. We source Canadian steel to manufacture culverts and utilize world class mill equipment made in British Columbia.

Who we are

Island Culvert was founded by road builders who envisioned a better, more efficient approach to culvert supply. With firsthand knowledge of industry demands and timelines, we set out to create a business model that’s responsive, reliable, and tailored to the real needs of road construction professionals.

Our guiding principles are simple:

  • Island Culvert is a member of the Corrugated Steel Pipe Institute, an industry group that has pioneered CSP standards in Canada for over 50 years.

  • Island Culvert is a member of the Truck Loggers Association, an industry group supporting a voice for the provincial forest community and represents its over 500 member companies by promoting the viability and sustainability of the B.C. forest industry, in policy development, by fostering effective communication and ensuring a dynamic organization that addresses the evolving needs of its members.

  • The Island Equipment Owners Association (IEOA) was formed in 1964 to create harmony among those in the heavy equipment, hauling and gravel fields, with an objective of better service at a fair rate. Much thought, planning and effort has gone into the IEOA to promote the interest and conserve the rights of those engaged in the contracting industry. The main operations of the IEOA relate to heavy construction industries, road building and municipal services. The Association represents a large number of civil contractors, equipment suppliers and operators and industry related suppliers on southern Vancouver Island.

  • The BC Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association is a non-profit organization that represents firms in the BC road building and maintenance industry. Our 300+ member companies represent highway maintenance contractors, construction contractors, underground/utility contractors, paving contractors and the various service and supply companies in the industry.
